Dental Crowns and Bridges
Restorations for missing or damaged teeth
Serving Allentown & Whitehall Residents
A dental crown is often needed when a tooth has become damaged due to trauma, or it has become infected. During a dental crown procedure, the dentist will often perform a root canal, where the tooth’s nerve is taken out to prevent further infection and discomfort. The crown is then placed over the tooth, recreating your previous tooth as close as possible so that it looks and feels natural. A bridge procedure is used to replace missing teeth by using adjacent teeth as anchors for the newly fabricated teeth. Both procedures aim to give you a natural looking smile that will leave you breathless.
Dental crowns are made out of many types of material, such as:
- Base metal alloys
- Gold alloys
- Ceramic
- Porcelain fused to metal
